Clinical treatments for the new season

The days are getting longer, bringing the joyful anticipation of the spring and warmer days. For many of us, our skin has had to combat the harshness of the cold and dry winter weather. Our skin feels parched, looks tired, and needs a springtime saviour.

As every season changes, so do the needs of our skin. This is the time to schedule that much needed appointment with your aesthetician, to have your skin analyzed and treated with your new springtime skin care regimen.

The first thing to schedule is a chemical peel, formulated with 30% AHA and/or BHA, to eliminate the dead and dry cells from your skin. When the build up is gone, the skin can be infused with nourishing serums and creams specifically chosen and personalized for your unique skin concerns. An occlusive Algomask is then applied to optimize the penetration of ingredients into the skin. This extreme hydrating and soothing mask will help to restore the appearance of your skin and provide a silky, soft feeling we all desire.

Alpha Hydroxy Acids (AHAs) are water-soluble acids derived mainly from fruit acids or synthetic formulations. Lactic, glycolic, and mandelic acids are used alone or in combination in the G.M. Collin peels.

Beta Hydroxy Acids (BHAs) are lipid-soluble or oil-soluble, derived from wintergreen leaves, and sweet birch and willow barks. Salicylic acid is the most commonly used BHA. Due to its oil solubility, it is normally used in products formulated for oily to acne-prone skin.
